Perfect your serve

Mastering your serve is one of the most important aspects of becoming a stronger tennis player. Your serve is not just a way to start the point—it’s a weapon that can put your opponent on the back foot from the very beginning.

To perfect your serve, focus on the toss. A consistent toss is key to hitting a powerful and accurate serve. Keep your toss in front of you and slightly to the side to allow for full extension and balance.

Secondly, work on your racket drop. As you wind up to hit the ball, the racket should naturally drop behind your head in what is called the "trophy position." This allows for maximum acceleration as you move into contact.

Finally, remember that the follow-through is just as important as the wind-up. After hitting the ball, let your body flow naturally into the court, following the direction of your shot. This will not only improve the power of your serve but also help you get into position for the next shot.

Consistency is Key

Consistent practice is essential when it comes to serving. Set aside time in each practice session to work solely on your serve. The more you practice, the more confident you’ll become when it’s time to use it in a match.
